Bro, Kenneth A. 81, of Evanston, died Monday, May 5, 2003, beloved husband of Patricia (nee Welch), loving father of William (Johanna), Peter (Barbara), Kenneth (Becky Brown), Patricia (Donald) Novakowski, Elizabeth (Paul) Howard and A. Charles (Anne Marie), cherished grandfather of 14, dearest brother of Alice (Emanuel) Racher, Andrew (Lu) and the late Harmon (June) Bro. Co-Owner of Webb Plastics Company, Northbrook, from 1965-87. Served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was decorated with a Bronze Star and Purple Heart. He served as chairman of the board of directors of Chicago Commons Association in 1962 and 1970-74, district chairman of the board of directors of Junior Achievement of Chicago, 1970 and 1972- 74, president of the Foundation for Scientific Relaxation, Chicago, 1965-94, member of the board of trustees of Northland College, Ashland, WI, 1957-94 and chairman of the board 1971-75 and member of the board of directors of the Presbyterian Homes, Evanston, IL, 1976-2000. He was also a member of the Rotary Club and the Economic Club of Chicago and the Winnetka Congregational Church. He loved boating and flying, piloting trips throughout North America and traveling around the globe. A private inurnment will take place at Christ Church, Winnetka, IL and a memorial service in Cable, WI, is being planned for a later date.
