Mr. Katahira was a wonderful man. I've known Russ since 1977, when we met in grad school. Russ used to invite me over to his house for dinner. Mr. Katahira was a terrific cook, so I really enjoyed the meals he served. But it wonderful just sitting and talking with him at the dinner table and afterwards, too. He was genuinely interested in other people, had a quick and infectious smile, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Mr. Katahira was a wonderful father, and Ken, Russ, and Wes are fortunate to have had such a great dad. And I am blessed to have known him.
