Bhote, Keki R. Keki Ruttonshaw Bhote, 88, of Glencoe, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on May 7, 2013 at his home in Glencoe, IL. Mr. Bhote was born on February 26, 1925 in Coimbatore, India. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Byram (Veera); nephew, Rattan; and his father, Ruttonshaw, and mother Meherbanoo. Survivors include his eternal love, Mehroo Keki Bhote; their four children, Safeena Bhote Cassidy, Shenaya Bhote-Siegel, Adi (Marcy Grad) Bhote and Xerxes (Amy) Bhote. He leaves behind his adored seven grandchildren, Spencer, Annabella, Lily, Garrison, Olivia, Emma and Evie; nephew, Nari (Chitra); niece, Hutoxi (Beji) Desai, and many friends and former colleagues. Craig Award; and for his service to the United Nations the Distinguished Service Award by the UNA of America. He has been listed in the following compilations: Who's Who in the Midwest, Finance and Industry, Global Business Leaders, National Registry. Keki was named one of the New Quality Gurus of America by Quality Digest Magazine. Perhaps most important to Keki, he was acknowledged as one of the 12 Outstanding Zoroastrians in the world by the World Zoroastrian Organization. Keki was very active in civic affairs locally, regionally, nationally and throughout the world; he served as a member and President of the Glencoe School Board; Supervisor and President, Board of Trustees, New Trier Township, IL; President of United Nations of Illinois; Chairman, Council of Presidents, United Nations Association of America; Vice-President, Center for Ancient Iranian Studies; Board of Directors, World Zoroastrian Association; President, World Zoroastrian Organization, U.S. Region; Member, Board of Directors, North Shore Senior Center; and Member, Board of Directors, Residents for Effective Shelter Transitions, Chicago. I met Keki Bhote when my wife Gloria and I attended his day-long seminar on design of experiments. I asked him questions and he gave me clear concise answers and kind words.

Over the following years I had occasions to call him for advice on productivity and quality improvement projects I was doing, and he always took the time to patiently give me the right answers. I was always thrilled to get a callback from Mr. Bhote.

Much of what I do would not have been possible without Keki Bhote´s uniquely effective teaching methods. They´re still among the world´s best tools for productivity and quality improvement. His book World Class Quality remains among the most relevant standards anywhere.

Dear Bhote family,

It is a very special person whose passing can make you rejoice through the tears. Such a person was Keki Bhote. It was always so pleasant to be around him and enjoy his gentle manner. And though he was a man of great intellect, he communicated a certain humility and interest in what others had to say. While we have lost a special person, he left a great deal behind. A body of professional work that will continue to teach others, and a family influenced by an exemplary role model.

Our most sincere good wishes,
The Weinberg Family

I remember Keki Uncle and Mehroo Aunty as the wonderful relatives to brought me the gift of books and reading. Now an entire room in my house is dedicated to books and study. I'd like to think it is a little-known Bhote trait that I have gladly inherited. His writing and public service will always be an inspiration. Thinking of you all xx
