I was so saddened to hear about Kay. She was fascinating, chic and just cool with her deep voice and manner of speaking. We were on several boards together and I loved re-connecting with her when back in Chicago. A shining star is now shining above

I met Kay shortly after college and we enjoyed being on many boards in the city raising money for Chicago Landmarks, Art, and Photography. With her deep voice, beauty and witty comments she was always quite memorable. My apologies to the family that I only just found out. She is missed. Kerry Moriarty Robbins

I attended high school with Kay and we reconnected a few years back. Life got crazy during the pandemic and we lost touch again.
I was deeply saddened when I learned of her death. Kay was a sweet soul.

My family and I have been friends and admirers of Katherin Whitfield from her earliest years through her accomplished adulthood. Always someone of wit, charm and wisdom, Kay would enliven any conversational exchange. We all appreciated her engaging personality and her knowledge and unsurpassed talent in the realm of art and architecture photography. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family.

Kay at my place in 2019. I was introduced to her by David Weil in 1985. We lost touch and reconnected in 2015.

My husband, Max Weismann, who started the Center for
the Study of The Great Ideas in Chicago, introduced me to
Kay. What a beautiful and charming woman she was. I wrote to her and read her articles in Classic Chicago Magazine. I know my husband, who has also past, would want to express our deepest condolences to her family for the passing of such a unique person that the world only sees once in a lifetime - if they're lucky!
