Garth, Katherine Passed away November 5, 2013, at the age of 60 in her hometown of Chicago, IL. She was a beloved mother to Shanae (Keith), Brandi (Jajuan), and Tyra; loving grandmother to Shanara, Khloe and JaBari; loving sister to Murlene (Pastor Bailey), Brenda, Cynthia (Kenneth Sr.), Catrina, Ernest (deceased), Murphy Jr. (deceased), Eddie and Avis Sr.; loving daughter to Murphy Sr. and Rosie B. Garth; loving aunt to Demetrius, Eddie, Arterio, La'Shea, Dwight, Avita, Avis Jr., Lavell, Amen-Ra, Ariel, Adrenna, Kenneth Jr., Tyler; and a loving great-aunt to a host of great-nieces and nephews. Katherine was a fond friend to Catherine Bunkley and family, Vickey Nile and family, Ava Taylor and family and other friends of the family whom she loved and cherished dearly. Public visitation will be held at Gatling's Chapel, 10133 S. Halsted, 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013. Funeral service including second visitation will be held at South Shore Bible Baptist Church, 7159 S. Cornell Ave, 9:30 am until 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Interment at Homewood Memorial Gardens, 600 West Ridge Road, Homewood, IL. Repast will be held at The Charles A. Hayes Family Investment Center, 4859 S. Wabash Ave on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
