Max & Marty,
I was deeply saddened when Jamie Spagnoli told me of Karyn's passing. Karyn was my first and best friend at Old Orchard Junior High and played a very special part in my life. We did the funny and sweet things that 13 & 14 year olds did in the 1966 ( especially in 7th grade Science class when we got a shirt for the teacher from Myerson's because the two of us gave him 'challenges' in class). I am very sad that I will not be able to share those memories with her. But, she is forever in my heart. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I had the priviledge of knowing Karyn at NIU. AS a sorority sister, we had many fun times together. She could bring a smile to your face, even when you were feeling down. Karyn was a true princess, and she grace this world with her kindness, friendship, and laughter. She will truly be missed and always remembered. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Marty and Max,
I am at a loss for words at just learning of the lost of our dear and wonderful friend, Karyn Israel. She was our agent but more importantly, a true friend in every sense of the word. Our partnership grew into a wonderful personal friendship. My two kids, Edward and Danielle, absolutely adored her. Karyn was like a Mom to them and for that, my wife, Annette and I will be forever grateful. She truly was one of the best and warmest individuals we have ever ever met. Her heart was so big. My kids are going to truly miss her as will we.
Karyn will always be in our hearts and we will always love her. Our prayers are with your family. We thank God for allowing us to know such a beautiful person.

My husband Jeff and Ijust heard today of Karyn's passing. We send condolences to Karyn's family. She was an exceptional person. Karyn was a beautiful, kind, generous friend from the East Bank Club. Though we hadn't seen her in awhile, we thought of her and often spoke of many good times with her. Nothing got her down. When no longer doing the work at Myerson's that she had done her whole life, she picked right up and learned a whole new career. We will always remember Karyn with exceptionally fond memories.

I was so saddened to hear of Karyn's passing. We were friends in grammer school, high school, and college until our lives took different directions and we just didn't stay in touch. How I do regret that. Karyn was a wonderful, caring person -- beautiful inside and out. Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss.

Max, I knew Karyn since she was a little girl and helped out at Meyersons. Watched her grow to a lovely young woman. Doris and I always admired her. When we all moved to Jeffro Plaza she was the light of the group. I recently saw her together with Marty at a Bar Mitzvah at North Suburban Beth El. She recognized me and I was thrilled to see her. First thing that she said was that she was sorry to hear that Doris passed away. Karyn was truly a Lady. May her memory be for a blessing.

Mr. Israel, Marty, Barb, Uncle Rueben, words will never express the depth of sorrow I feel for all of you. A kinder, more gentle soul I have never known. It was a privilege to call her my friend. We laughed until we cried and cried until we laughed on so many occasions. I am so sorry I was out of town and missed her service and shiva. You are in my thoughts and prayers and my memories of Karyn are filled with love and joy. Her devotion to her family was an inspiration. I will miss her dearly. May God bless you all during this most difficult time.

Dear Max & Marty:
I can not begin to tell you how shocked I was to hear of Karen's death. I remeber her growing up and how much fun she had being at the store on the weekends and than full time.
I remeber her great smile and her kidness to everyone. The way that she mothered both you and Marty after Linda passed away.
I was thrilled to have a chance to spend some time with her when she came out to Arizona. Both Sharlan and myself had a ball with her and her cousin. She always said that she wanted to come back and party with Sharlan and stay at the house. I am sorry that we will not have that chance.
All the words in the world will not tell you what type of person she was but, she was one in a kind.

To the Israel family,
Karyn was a friend of mine at Northern Illinois University and after we graduated. We always had such fun together. After college, we were single gals together and every Saturday night we would go to a different restaurant. I remember lots of fun dinners at your home in Northbrook and I especially remember spending New Year's Eve at your home in 1976 and watching the ball drop together. I loved going over to your house and that was the best thing about being friends with Karyn.I will always remember how beautiful she was inside and out.

Dear Max and Marty:
Please accept my deepest condolences for your loss. The Israel/Meyerson family was part of the history of the old Jeffro Plaza, where Karyn spent so many of her adult days, and graced it with her lovely presence. On behalf of my family, and all of us at South Central Bank, we wish that her memory be honored and revered by all of us that knew her well.
With sadness and fond memory,

Karyn was one of the funniest, kindest and most generous friends I ever had. She was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. We golfed every Friday for several years with our mutual friend, Joe Willis. He and I are devastated with the news.
I will never forget her picking me up in the black Avanti, top down and clubs tucked in the back. I have wonderful memories. I will miss her and keep her in my prayers.
I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolensces. I know the East Bank Club will never be the same. She was a great friend, daughter and sister. She always talked about her family and expressed her love for all of you. God bless.

I am sorry that I will not be able to make today's service. If there are any other gatherings in honor of Karyn, whether it be in the home or else where I would like to be informed. I visited Karyn on Thursday. I had the pleasure of meeting her friend Joanne - and we shared our stories about Karyn and smiled a lot. I am certain that she heard me telling her long girlfriend how she had been a 12 year veteran of the martial arts. This is actually very impressive - most people quite hobbies they begin. She was my student and friend for 12 years. She began taking kickboxing and martial arts with me at the East Bank Club in 1997. I see her weekly normally for our lessons - I have missed her presence very much over the last 8 weeks and will continue to miss her each week.
Please contact me if there is anything I can do to help with her estate - I know the work required to sort through a person's wonderful life and I am willing to provide my time to lift any burdens on her family.

To the Israel family and all of Karen’s cousins and friends:
We knew Karen ever since she was a little girl. She was one of the nicest and sweetest persons we have ever known. We will never be able to attend a service or function at the Persian Hebrew Congregation without thinking of her. She was always ready with a warm smile and a cheerful laugh. May Karen’s memory be a blessing to all who knew her.

God Bless Karyn. As a fellow realtor in the Gold Coast Office, I heard that Karyn attended Bold, a Keller Williams training course, and as sick as she was, she attended on Mondays in Oct/Nov - nothing was going to stop her from taking herself to the next level in her professional life. Her determination serves as great inspiration to me and my husband. Sincerely, Izetta and Jay Carroll.
Karyn had a determination unlike most! God Bless

It was such a privilege to know Karyn, I don't believe I've ever met a kinder, more inclusive or generous person -- a glowing credit to Max and Linda. Her genuine concern and compassion for others was extraordinary. Her quick wit brightened many a conversation and kept us all anchored in reality. Every time I pass a snow-covered golf course, I think back to two wonderful snowy Thanksgiving mornings we played rounds, laughing the entire time. Marty and Max, please accept my deepest sympathies -- I can't even begin to comprehend your loss. Karyn, you will be deeply missed, but I'm so glad I had the opportunity to know you.
