I had the pleasure meeting Karl as a volunteer attorney at the Center on Halsted and lost touch with him in the past several months. I learned of his passing this weekend when I searched his name on the internet and was very sad to come across this development. His positive attitude was consistent and admirable in the face of the adversity he faced. I am glad that I got the opportunity to meet him. My belated condolences to Karl's brother and family. I am sorry for your loss, Mark Wheeler

Karl was just a delightful person to know; sweet and kind; loved his wit and hearing his critiques about the latest movie or play and his recommendations were always on target; he could brightened the day with just hearing his wonderful laugh.

Karl,

I always enjoyed our talks about the different plays and musicals you had seen while ushering at the different theaters in Chicago. You were a sweet and gentle soul. May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
