Karen Ochwat Obituary

Ochwat, Karen

Karen Ochwat (nee Burgette), born into this world on December 14, 1948 and went to meet with the Lord on October 1, 2021. She is survived by her loving husband James Ochwat, brothers Daniel (Patricia) Burgette, Paul Burgette, and sister-in-law Linda Ochwat. She is also survived by her nephews Dr. Reed (Dr. Emily) Burgette and their children Rowan and Calder and by Dr. Lane Burgette and his children Ansel and Colter. They were the lights of her life and she loved them dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents Chester Seward Burgette and Crystal Burgette (nee Valentine). Karen was a devoted Chicago Public School high school art teacher who loved teaching and who adored her students. Among her many talents, she was a sculptor, painter, and a talented stained-glass artist. She touched the hearts of everyone who know her through her kindness and generosity, and she will be mourned by all whose lives she touched in so many ways. Due to Covid-19 interment will be private and a memorial in Karen's honor will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Robert J. Sheehy & Sons Funeral Home, 9000 W. 151st Street, Orland Park, IL. www.sheehyfh.com 708-857-7878
