To the Furth Family,
I have known Jules for many years. He was a good man. He taught me some important lessons about Jewish Funerals during my tenure at Piser's. I will miss him.

Reading Jules obituary last week was a sad event. I knew him briefly in the 70's and he was a charming man. Claire, I'm sorry for your loss.

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to the family of Mr. Furth. Although I had not been in contact with him for years, he was frequently in my thoughts. I owe him a great deal as he gave me a chance and hired me as receptionist directly out of school. I have never found the same sense of family that he created as Director of Home Health South. Again, my heart goes out to all of his family and friends.

Kent, my son, my wife Barb, and I had the pleasure of feeding Jules his favorite meal of smoked ribs during my Thanksgiving trip to Chicago. Kent smoked the ribs on a new smoker and Jules placed his stamp of approval to the sampler plate.
What a pleasure it was to referee with Jules. He could take a house league mite game and turn it into a game filled with intensity and complexity found in only a seventh game of the Stanley Cup.
To Jules' wife, Clare, and his two sons, may I express my deepest sympathy, but to relish in his never ending spirit and positive outlook on life and it's opportunities.

We spoke to Jules by phone the end of December, shortly before we left for Australia and New Zealand. Although hospitalized and hoarse, he insisted on telling us what tours we should take as he recalled the trip there that he, Claire and Winston had recently made. We said we would call him when we returned Jan. 20th, to tell him all about it. He said, no, I'll be away playing golf and will get back to you as soon as I return.
Flora has known Jules since the 4th grade and Jerry since they were teen agers. Jules was our dearest friend and we loved him unconditionally. We have wonderful memories that will remain with us as a vivid tribute to his joy of life, which he lived to the fullest measure.
Our love and warmest feelings are with you David and Claire and Winston. Sorry we can't be with you in person, but we are there in spirit.

heart-felt condolences to jules' family. jules' death is a great loss to the very large population of others, whose losses were made more bearable and less burdensome by jules' sincere manner of support and comfort over many years, from the south side to the north side. one always seemed to feel comforted by jules' warmth & pat on the arm, at others' funerals, and reminded of
so much from years past. i remember jules' passion for bridge, as well as soccer and the sports
arenas. those who knew jules were
privileged -- he was a caring, loving, courageous man.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Jules. I had not seen him in a long time, but we used to referee high-school and amateur hockey games together once in a while in the Chicago area. I have fond memories of that ... Jules knew the game quite well, but more importantly he was a good person.
