Judi was one heck of a broad whose tireless pursuit of living a purpose driven life showed in her actions and interactions. I can't begin to put into words what this woman meant to me so I will just say this: A beautiful life well lived - I celebrate your spirit. You are a bonus to all who got to call you teacher and friend... Traecey Scanlan RDHS 1987

Ms. Speer's devotion to her students, in and out of the classroom, will never be forgotten. In her roles as teacher, director, and forensics coach, she pushed for the best in her students, and we thrived in our daily attempts to meet her expectations. She helped me develop a level of confidence that sets me apart from my peers to this day. I am blessed to have been her student.

Ms. Speer will always have a special place in my heart. She is the reason I survived high school. I had her everyday for drama class all four years, after school for play rehearsals and on Saturdays for forensics. She went above and beyond the call of duty as a teacher and I loved her like a grandmother. She encouraged me to fulfill my dreams as an actress and helped me gain the confidence I needed to face college. She made me feel self-worth at a time in my life when that was a struggle for me. I learned so much about myself and about life from her. She always challenged me to do my best and treated all her students with respect and dignity. For that I will be forever grateful. My admiration for her as teacher and as a human being is immeasurable and her memory will never be forgotten. She has been an inspiration to so many and I can only hope that I may touch a fraction of the lives that she did. I love you, Speer!
