Joyce Irwin Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joyce Irwin, age 87, of Tinley Park, IL, formerly of Chicago. Joyce passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on March 14, 2023, following a prolonged battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira and her son Ricky. Loving mother of Roxanne Hennessy (Jim, deceased) and Renée Bennett-Smith (Lester). Proud grandma to Miranda and Rex Bennett-Smith, beloved sister to Mary Hubbard, Wayne Blaylock, Vaughn (Edna) Blaylock, Judy Blevins of TN and Boyd Blaylock of Chicago, Sister-in-law Gloria Perry of FL, cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews and a great friend of many.
Joyce was a long-time owner, along with her husband of Ira's bar on Madison St. in Chicago. Joyce was an excellent poker player, loved playing all kinds of card games, winning football pools and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Private celebration of life will be held on March 31, 2023 which would have been her 88th Birthday.
