Papadakis, Jovanna of the Gold Coast Area in Chicago, formerly of Ashland, WI, after a brief illness September 4, 2008. Beloved sister of Helen (the late Les) Beecher, George (Colleen) Papadakis, the late Bertha (the late Jack) Woods and the late Mary (the late Walter) Clubine, cherished aunt of Krisann, Georganne, Kathy, Mary Helen, Cristina, Michael, Lisa, Pat, Mike and the late Jovanna and many great and great-great nieces and nephews. Longtime employee of Victor Skrebneski. Visitation Tuesday, September 9, 2008, from 4 to 9 p.m., at The Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, IL, 60618. Friends and family are to meet for the funeral Wednesday, September 10th, 10 a.m. for Visitation and 11 a.m. for service at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, 733 S. Ashland Ave. (Ashland/Polk), Chicago, IL, 60612. Private interment Ashland, WI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Basil Church. Info: 773-588-5850

Your loving care, your dry sense of humor and laughter, your shoulder to lean on, your signature style... I will always remember those star earrings. Your devotion to your work with Victor. Enjoying life and it's simple pleasures... spending great times with good friends and family. This is how I will always remember you Jo. Jovanna was such a joy to spend time with no matter what we did. I shall miss dinners with her and our past outings at Arlington. She leaves a void with all of her friends but wonderful memories. For every joy that passes leaves something beautiful.

Jovanna was such a creative and lovely person. She was always ready with a smile and was a very kind and giving person. I am glad to have known her and have so many good memories of her. She will be missed.

Jovanna was one of the best individuals I met as a member of the Associates Board for Cinema Chicago. I have had the pleasure of spending many wonderful dinners with her over the years. Her friendship will be missed by me and others she touch here in Chicago. God bless.
