Vanek, Joseph P. "Jojo" Marine Corp Veteran WWII, beloved husband for 56 years of Helen (nee Lunak), loving father of Diane (Michael) Gradassi, Joe (Sandy), Mike C.F.D. (Joy), Guy and Mary (Kevin) Sievers, devoted grandfather of 15, dear brother of the late Mildred (the late Ray) Feldner, Marian (the late Skip) Kapitanek and George (the late Lucille) Vanek, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Member of VFW Post #9423 of Rolling Prairie, IN. and past president of Blue Condors Club, former owner of Vanek Trucking Company. Funeral Saturday, 9:15 a.m. from Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home, 11028 Southwest Hwy., to St Terrence Church for 10 a.m. Mass. Interment St. Mary. Visitation 2 to 9 p.m. Friday. JOE WAS A GOOD FRIEND AND NEIGHBOR.I WAS AT AETNA TRUCK PARTS AND LEFT IN 98. JOE WAS A BRIGHT SPOT IN OUR DAY. WE AWERE ABOUT THE SAME AGE AND COULD RELATE ABOUT HOW THINGS WERE AND THE CHANGES IN OUR LIVES.HE WILL BE MISSED BUT REMEMBERED. HANK ZIMMERMAN
