I was an old friend of Joe’s and came across this very sad news today. I was looking Joe up to invite him to a reunion from Maryville Academy where I had the privilege of meeting him. I have many fond memories and stories about the short couple of years I worked and spent time with him. I look forward to the day I see him again.

My Dearest Joey - - - -

Today you have been gone from us for 1 year. During this year we have all struggled in someway without your presence, your smile, your laugh, your voice and your unconditional love. There is still that hole in our hearts that will never, ever heal. I miss you much more than words can say, but I still feel your presence near me everyday. Until we meet again one day, my love, I will always miss you and love you. All of my love to you always - - - - Suzanne

I remember Joe more so when we were all young, except I got to hang with him at Phil's wedding. We had a great time catching up! He was in great spirits that day and I will remember him that way.

It is still so hard to believe that our dear Joe is gone. He was such a vital part of our little spiritual family. I will remember his hugs, his smiles and his beautiful blue eyes. I know he is up in heaven keeping us all in his "High Watch." God rest your precious soul, dear Joey. And my condolences to Suzanne and all of your loving friends and family.

Love,

Kiya

Dear Joe's Family,
That seems a little awkward, but the right greeting. My family and I know Joe (and you, Suzanne) from Unity Church. As I shared with Suzanne last night, my children and I loved hearing stories of the travels, and Joe loved sharing them and all of the great pictures. I know you all touched Joe's life, and he in turn touched ours. Thank you for all of the love that he shared with us. Suzanne - Salaam Alaikum! Much love, Leslie Henderson

I only met Joe a couple of nights when we played poker together on one of his trips to visit Mary/Dolly Ganem. A bunch of us played dealers choice. Joe was wicked funny and a quick with cards. In short, we enjoyed his brief visit and all thought he was an ACE OF A GUY.

My heart is with all of you. So happy to have had the chance to spend quality time with Joey a few short months ago here in CT. He was a good man to us all and we will meet again for some laughs and cries.
Peace to you all, Cousin Dolly

My sincere sympathies to the Suffern Family. I have not seen the family in years, since Lucy and I became friend's at St. Rita's back in 1968. Joey, Louie and Jimmy were just little kids. I still remember Christmas Eve's at the Suffern's and the great company and food.
God Bless to Joey's family.
