(nee Hartman), dear father of Sandra (Michael) Halla, William (Linda) Serviss, Gerald (Karen Chrusciel) Serviss and Scott (Suzanne) Serviss, cherished grandfather of Darren (Jennifer), Ryan (Kelsi), Jeffrey (Martha), Timothy (Barbara), Kelli (Josef), Angela, Matthew, Nathan, Dakota, Brittany and Alanna, loving great-grandfather of Logan, Lauren, Travis, Kristen, Chloe, Charissa, Samantha, Nicole, Isabelle and Michael. Visitation Thursday 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd. at Northwest Hwy. Mt. Prospect. Lying in State Friday 10:00 until Services 11:00 A.M. at St. Mark Lutheran Church, 200 S. Wille St. Mt. Prospect. Interment Ridgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Legion Post 973, 4355 N. Western Ave. Chicago, IL 60618. Joe was a dedicated Cubs fan. He was the Home Delivery Manager for the Chicago Sun Times and the Chicago American, and was a 60 year member of the Chicago Mailers Union. Bill, very sorry to hear about your dad, I remember all of the great times we had at your house and I enjoyed all of the conversations your dad and I had together once I became an adult. He will be missed by so many but remembered by so many more because of his sense of humor and personality. I will keep him in my prayers.
