Schiff, Dr. Joseph H. 93, beloved husband of Lillian R. (nee Frohman), loving father of Barry S. and Jay M. (Linda) Schiff, devoted grandfather of Jessica C. (Jason) Wolin and Samantha S. Schiff. Predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters, fond uncle of two generations of nieces and nephews. Services Friday, 11 a.m., at North Shore Congregation Israel, 1185 Sheridan Rd., Glencoe. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jewish United Fund, 30 S. Wells St., Chicago, IL, 60606 or the JCC Men's Club, 300 Revere Dr., Northbrook, IL, 60062. To the family,
I always found Joe to be pleasant, calming, and amusing with many of his stories. He was like a father to many of my colleagues in medical school who worked for him at his office. I retired in 1992, but whenever I would return on Tuesday mornings to St. Elizabeth's Hospital, and would have coffee before the lectures I always enjoyed an hour with Joe. He was a compassionate, competent physician. I know he lived a long and useful life, but he will be missed.

Dear Lill,
Our thoughts and love go out to you. You and Joe have always been a beautiful light in our family's life. We will always treasure the memory of Joe, his kindness, stature and intelligence. We are saddend that we cannot visit with you at this time.
