I was very sorry and surprised to hear of Joe's passing. I knew Joe as a fellow bowler at Classic Bowl, and spent many Saturdays there with him over the last few years.
Joe would always tell me he was so old, and then he would soundly beat me. I can't describe how much we both enjoyed the competition.
And when I think of Joe, that's what I remember most. That he was a competitor. Never giving up, and always a good and gracious oponent.... win or lose (though he usually won!).
And he was a good friend. We didn't see each other that often, but when we did the conversation was always easy.
I believe that even though he has moved on to the bowling alley in the sky, he will still be challenging and competing (and beating) people. But my sincerest and deepest sympathies go out to Joe's wife and family.

Many years ago, Joe and some other guys used to play poker with my Dad, John Reback. Mom and I offer our sympathy to you and your family. May God comfort you in your loss.
