Joseph Ruiz Obituary

Ruiz, Joseph

Joseph Arthur Ruiz, age 77, of Chicago, IL, went to heaven peacefully on March 9, 2025. He was born on August 10, 1947 in New York, NY to Joseph Angel Ruiz and Edith (Garcia) Ruiz. Joseph is survived by his wife Carol Kubala Ruiz, his children Carole (Dan), Michelle (John), Joseph (Nicole), Tiffany (Dariusz), his grandchildren Lily, Kiersten, Olive, Joseph, Gabriel, Valor, Azalia, Emma, and Jenna, his siblings Nilda (Ronald), Richard, Judith (Gladys), and Sandra, and his many his nieces and nephews.

Joseph was a beloved husband and family man. He was a lifelong educator with the Chicago Public Schools. Joseph assisted his father "Carlos Caribe" Ruiz, the founder/director of the Puerto Rican Congress of Mutual Aid. He then succeeded his father as the director with the support of his siblings. He was a youth baseball coach, and a faithful elder of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Joseph lived a good life and enjoyed every moment. He was a gentle soul who left a meaningful impact on all those he came across. He will forever be remembered as our counselor with a listening ear who desired peace in all his relationships. God gave us love, joy, and peace through Joseph.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul Lutheran Church (https://www.stpaulcanfield.org/) are appreciated.

I want to Convey my sincere condolences to The Ruiz family on your loss of Joe Ruiz. Met Joe 58 yrs ago, by chance. We both played HS Baseball, Joe got Wells HS and I, Austin. In 1967 he contacted me to play for the Puerto Rican Congress led by his father, Caribe. I remember Joe for his Sense of Humor and Cordial personality. Although it´s been many years since we last met, He will always represent and Wonderful time in my life.
May the Good Lord Keep him in his loving grace
