Father Joseph McDermott, SVD, passed away September 5, 2025. Loving son of the late Ambrosius and Ruth McDermott. Resurrection Mass will be September 12 at 10:30 a.m. at the Divine Word Residence,1901 Waukegan Road, Techny, IL. The streaming link for the funeral Mass: https://youtube.com/live/DwrT1ChZdhY?feature=share. Burial will be at St. John's Catholic Placid Cemetery, Epworth, IA. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in the name of Father Joseph McDermott SVD for the care of retired and infirmed Divine Word Missionaries, c/o Divine Word Residence, PO Box 6000, Techny, IL 60082-6038.
