Joseph Lombardo Obituary

Joseph Bernard Lombardo Sr., 76, of Alton, Illinois, a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, an employee of Construction Workers Labor Local No. 218 for more than 40 years before his retirement from Alton Lock and Dam No. 26 in 1988, died at St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton on the afternoon of Monday, December 30, 2002. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, January 2, 2003, 4-8 p.m., at Staten Funeral Home, 220 Court Street, Alton. Prayer services are scheduled for Thursday, 7:30 p.m., at the funeral home, officiated by Brother David Guza. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday, January 3, 10 a.m., at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 1015 Milton Road, Alton, officiated by Father Dave Schmidt. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Alton. Military rites will be conferred by Veterans of Foreign Wars Alton Post No. 1308. Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Anthony's Health Center; St. Matthew's School; or Marquette Catholic High School, c/o Staten Funeral Home, 220 Court Street, Alton, IL 62002. Arrangements entrusted to Staten Funeral Home, Alton, Illinois.
