Dear Gloria and Family,
I have many fond memories of the being with the Guido family. I was so saddened when I heard of Joe's passing. Joe was a great mentor and teacher to me. He definitely shaped my life for the better. I wish I would have had an opportunity to see more of Joe and Gloria over the past few years. I first met Joe and Gloria when I was nine years old. Joe gave me piano lessons for many years. Joe instilled in me a love for classical and jazz music. He also as I was growning up encouraged me to be a self-confident person and never give up in what I try! I will miss him dearly!

Dear Gloria, I just wanted to send over my sympathy to you. I am so sorry to hear that Joe passed away. Ever since you guys left the fair from the famous Guido's Pasta, it has never been the same. I miss working with you there and I miss my room smelling like the ever famous GARLIC BREAD!!! Gloria I love you and miss my piano lessons from you. I have been pulling out my pld piano books and started practicing again! I was so glad to see you and Joe at my graduation last year. It meant so much to me to see you two come all this way and to see your beautiful smiles! I miss you like crazy and I just want you to know that my room is always open and that Joe will always be missed! He was always the sunshine in a room!! I love you and you and your family will be in my prayers! Love always, Andrea Hodorowski

Dearest Gloria and Family, We are so sorry for your tremendous loss. We met you and Joe at the music studio on Harlem avenue when our Andrea started taking lessons. Little did we know the turn of events that would bring our paths together for many more years. We unfortunatly did not know of Joe's passing untill I spoke with you on our way to the Sandwich Fair this year. What a shock saying to you that the Fair just isn't the same without Guido's Pasta booth and your week long stay at our home, and learning of his death. We sat in the event stands and just as I said I would we said one for Joe. We Thanked God he was in our lives, remained a true friend ,shared laughter and happiness took the good with the bad and always was himself. What you saw is what you got and he always gave his all!! We also stopped where your stand was and I told Andy we we're walking on sacred ground. I Prayed for you all right then and there and a warm rush of rememberences burst into me.It seriously is how Joe's smile was when you first saw him.The Lord has himself a Great sidekick in Joe Guido and he will be dearly missed by all of us. We Thanked God for bringing you and Joe in our lives and all though we are not as often in touch, Andrea's bedroom will always be open for vists. We Love You Gloria ... The Hodorowski Family Andy, Karen and Andrea..God Bless

Mrs. Guido, family, and friends,
Joe was so much bigger than life when you really stop and think about it. He was an educator, a showman, a friend, a father, a husband, a staple in the Chicago music scene, and an amazing soul all around. He will truly be missed and remembered by many, including myself, when it comes to life and how to live it. My prayers are with you and my heart is with him.

Although I only took lessons from Joe since June 2007, it was clear to see why he was loved by so many students over the years. He will truly be missed! My condolences go out to the Guido family, may you find comfort in God's promise of eternal life to those who believe in Him. I'm sure our Savior welcomed Joe into His arms with the words, "Well done good and faithful sevant... Enter into the joys of your lord" (Matt. 25:21)

Dear Mrs. Guido and Family,
I am so sorry to hear of your tremendous loss. My thoughts and prayers go out to you at this difficult time in your lives.
Mr. Guido gave me piano lessons for 12 years...from Twinkle Twinkle Little Star as a first grader to Moonlight Sonata in the open competition at McCormack Place. I truly appreciate the love of music that he gave to me. I now have my own piano, and my first grade son has just begun his piano lessons. I hope he learns to love the piano and sticks with it at least as long as I did. I will never forget all of the days of walking to his studio for lessons, the recitals in Bedford Park and the competitions at McCormack Place. Those memories are a huge part of my childhood, and I will cherish them forever.
I wish I could attend the wake, however, it is a special day for my son today. So please accept my sincerest condolences.
Sincerely,
Cali Pappas

To the Guido Family: I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Mr. Guido. My grandson Nathan has taken lessons from Mr. Guido for the past 5 years. He loved Mr. Guido along with so many. Mr. Guido played at our daughters wedding just this past April of 2007. What a priviledge to have him on the video as a great remembrance. This has been such a great loss for so many of the children who had him as their teacher. He will be so missed. I enjoyed seeing him and his wife occassionally eating at Les Brothers Restaurant after a hard days work with the children. We enjoyed the recitals that he would have with the children as they would play their songs that they were taught. May all the children keep playing as we know Mr. Guido would be so honored. Mr. Guido was an excellent musician and will be remembered in different ways by so many. With our love as we lift your family up in prayer through this difficult time.
