Joseph Ferriter Obituary

Ferriter Sr., Joseph Hugh Was freed from his earthly bonds on September 24, 2017. There to greet him in Heaven were his parents, John and Catherine Ferriter; daughter, Katie Ferriter; and stepson, Mark A. Holland. Rest assured that Joe is the newest Superintendent of Mansion Construction in the Lord's Heavenly Kingdom! As a young man, Joe served his country in the U.S. Army. Following his discharge, Joe was a pipefitter, a foreman and a superintendent for more than five decades. In his later years, he managed the business side of his wife's art career and served as an expert witness for many mesothelioma cases in the Midwest. He loved a good game of golf with his daughter Barbara, doing challenging crosswords, the Pipefitters L.U. #597, the music of the Wolfe Tones, and Guinness. Joe is survived by his wife, Gerrylea; his daughter, Barbara Green (John); son, Joseph Ferriter Jr. (Jan); stepchildren, Linda Szwabowski (Ray), John Holland (Anna) and Julie Borgman (Mike). Additional survivors include 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family gives a special thanks to neighbor and hospice nurse, Joanne Mallory; and her son, Ricky. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of your choice.
