Aunt Joann and Regina , I cannot tell you how much I loved Uncle Ed . He was much more than an uncle to me. He made me feel like his son. We had many conversations over dinner and drinks as I grew up he was much more than uncle . He was a friend , mentor , and idol of mine . In high school and college I proudly wore his number 24 when playing football. He will be missed by many I love you both Louis John

I first met Ed Scannicchio when I entered St. Ignatius as a freshman in the fall of 1958. By then, Ed had established himself as a legend in the history of Ignatius football. To get to know him was the goal of all incoming students because he was the best running back in the conference. But that is but a part of the legacy of Ed Scannicchio. Once he knew who and what you were, he never forgot. The reputation had earned as a student athlete grew as he continued in life to serve the community with dedication and to embrace the family he loved so much. It was an honor to call Ed a friend.

Joan and Regina, please accept my condolences. I had the sincere pleasure of meeting Eddie (and Joan) through my husband. Eddie was fast with a smile and had a joking way to make you feel welcomed and comfortable. Always called me his "cugina". Joan, hope you find comfort from your family and friends during the challenging days ahead. You, Regina, your families and Eddie´s close friends are in my thoughts and prayers.
