Joseph Fatigato Obituary

Fatigato, Joseph S. devoted father of Nicole (Richard) Vitellaro, daughter of Nancy Doherty, Joseph R., Katherine and Amy Fatigato, children of Christy Fatigato, loving son of Phyllis and the late Sam Roger Fatigato, dear brother of his twin Sam, Anthony, Roger, Jerry, John, Nick and the late Joe P. Fatigato, dear uncle of many nieces and nephews. Joey was loved by everyone who had the good fortune to meet him. Like his father with whom we believe he is reunited in Christ, he never met a stranger and lived life fully, spreading laughter and joy. Joey lived his life with faith, hope, charity and love. He will continue to be an inspiration to his family and friends. The family asks everyone to vote responsibly, support gun control legislation and work locally to prevent senseless acts of violence. Funeral Tuesday, 9 a.m., from Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake Street, Roselle 60172 (3/4 mile West of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), to Lamplighter Bible Church, 359 W. Irving Park Road, Roselle, service 10 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 3 until 9 p.m. For info 630-889-1700.

I knew Joe and Sam from high school. What I remember is a guy who was tough as nails but still a caring friend. My condolences to his family and friends.

My thoughts and prayers are with Joe and his immediate family during this difficult time. I was blessed to have known Joe in high school and to have served with him in school organizations like Kiwanis Key Club. Joe, Sam, and John were great leaders to so many at Addison Trail. I know I am better off for having known him. May God be with the rest of his family this holiday season. Peace to all of you.

Mrs. Fatigato and Sam, my sincerest sympathies to the loss of your son and brother. I do not know if you remember me from the old Caryl avenue days in Northlake, but Joe was a friend of mine from Northlake Junior High. I still can see him and you Sam behind the water tower on Lake street as we played hockey with the Marinos, Hanczars and Gonzalez boys or playing basetball on open gym nights way back in 1973-1974. And Mrs. Fatigato you might remember me at the Pizza Joynt card games held at Dutchies or Jack Perry's home.
May God bless and comfort you and your family during this trying time.

I knew Joe through my personal friendship with Nicky and through my older brother, a '79 classmate of AT and friend of Joe, Wayne. I have many fond memories of Joe... I can see his smile on a frozen new years day, across the line from me, on the snow covered tundra of High-View park for the annual Turkey-Bowl... Joe was actually one of my first employers; he taught me to paint the summer of graduation '83 and for about a year or so I had the pleasure of his mentoring not only in painting but in life as well; it has been over 20 years since I've used a paint brush for employment, but when the occasional painting job comes around the house and I am ready to begin, there hasn't been a time that I don't hear Joe's voice resonating "Keep that brush wet, Haag!"... My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Fatigato family in your time of grief. May your memories of Joe bring you comfort.

Words cannot express my sympathy for everyone who is hurting from the loss of Joe. He was an amazing person and touched so many lives during his short time with us on earth. I take comfort in knowing he has now started a new life with God, his father and others that have also left this earth. We must embrace each other and never take our own lives for granted. Cherish each other and every moment that is given to us. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Joey, Katie & Amy,

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel. Your dad was a generous and joyful guy. We know you will miss him greatly as it leaves an immense void when you lose someone you love. However, have faith.. remember that the Lord just wanted him nearby. Rely on that to bring you some relief.
Love and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with your family. Although I did not know Joe very long, I will never forget the days he spent with my sister and I at the pool in his complex. "This is Paradise" were the words I remember him saying a lot. He loved it in the south and I am so sorry our small town wasn't able to protect him from the evil this world holds. He truly now can see what the real Paradise looks like, through the eyes of an angel. May God be by your side through this difficult time. Peace be with you.

My memories of Joey will always be loving. He always treated me with love and respect and I will miss him daily. His kindness, genuine love for humanity and acceptance of those he loved will always inspire me. I know that my dad has embranced him at the gate, along with his brother Joe Blow, and they are all watching over us. God Bless you Joey - You will always be loved.

Joey, I’m surly going to miss your heart, loyalty, generosity and compassion. I knew what a hard working man you were. I knew how much you loved your children, family and friends with all you had to give. I admired your courage to overcome and your resolve to start over. You never gave up the good fight and you were a stand up guy. I will forever cherish the memories of growing up so close with you and your brothers. I looked up to all of you like the big brothers I didn’t have. Ever since I can remember you have embraced that title and you made sure I knew I was protected by it - always. The time we spent together a few summers ago will always be treasured memories for me. I’m so glad my husband had the chance to get to know you too. Life will not be the same without you, Joey! I will forever be looking on the dance floor for you at every family party. I won’t be able to see you but I’ll know you’re there. Just like I know your father is always there with us. I feel blessed having 2 guardian angels in heaven looking over me now. I find comfort in knowing my godfather and cousin are together, looking down upon and guiding me through life. I pray my godmother, cousins, family and friends find that same peace. I pray the memories we all have will take some of this sadness from our hearts and gently replace it with the warmth of shared moments and promise of the peace to come. I love you Joey and will forever miss you. I know you’ll always be with me in my heart, thoughts and prayers. With much love, your cousin Jennifer

The way I will always remember cousin Joey was the way he smiled and laughed with his whole being! He had a smile that came from deep within. Me and my siblings always looked up to Joey and his brothers and are thankful for all the memories that you're ALL a part of...Fatigato Family picnics where everyone always wanted to be on Joey's team for softball and weddings where Joey tore up the dance floor! We are praying for you and will continue to in this very difficult time. May our Lord comfort you all. Matthew 5:4, John 11:25,26. We love you!!!

From all of our family, we appreciate everyone's prayers and support during this time. I just personally would like to say how very proud I am of my dad for making a fresh start in his life and leaving us with the peace of knowing he was truly happy. I know he is with my Poppers looking down on us and keeping us strong. I love you dad, we will all miss you so much.

Joe Fatigato is my cousin by blood but I called him my big brother. He had a passion for life and love that can not be equaled. He never judged anyone. He opened his heart, mind and home to anyone who was in need. His heart knew no bounds. Anyone and everyone who ever met him will tell you about his friendly smile, his warm, sparkling eyes, his "heart of gold" and his willingness to help his fellow man.

My sweet Joe, you have touched hundreds of lives in your 47 years of life. You will be missed greatly by all who ever met you. You were my cousin, my brother, my friend, my confidante and my son's Godfather. Our hearts are broken. I know God called you home because he needs soldiers like you in his army to combat the incessant evil in this world. I love you and miss you.....Ang"but"Ang

Aunt Phyllis, Sam, John, Nick, Nicole, Joey R., Katie and Amy....I love you all and pray that God gives you all the strength to face each day ahead. We have so many wonderful memories of Joe. We will honor him by remembering the happiness, laughter and spirit of Joe. He is in heaven with God, Uncle Rogie (Poppers) and all others who have left our lives. I can't think of a more appropriate "Guardian Angel" for us all to have. He loved fiercely and passionately. We will all miss his light and his love.
