The first time I met Joe I was 16 years old. My brother who knew him introduced him as "The Kid Lawyer(Joe was still in school at the time). Little did I know at the time that he would be the best man at our wedding 5 years later when I married one his best friends.
When Rich has his accident, Joe was there for us all the way. His friendship, counsel, care and concern will never be forgotten.
He also had a great sense of humor. Years ago I would see him on the bus going downtown to work from our neighborhood, and say "hi Joe", he would turn to the people around him and say, " I don't know this girl, I think she's trying to pick me up!" That "Kid Lawyer" turned out to be quite a guy!
Joe, I wish you and eternity filled with peace and joy, no one deserves it more.
With affection and prayer, Joan Walgurski

I have had the pleasure of knowing Joe since boyhood. We grew up together in the same neighborhood, had the same mutal friends, hung out at the corner drugstore almost every night, where he kept us "drugstore cowboys" on the straight and narrow trail. We enjoyed sports on the same team, went through high school together, and frequented the same parties with a close group of guys and gals. We swapped letters while both in the Army during the Korean War, and celebrated a safe return home. Joe was the best man at our wedding in 56, and kept in touch for many years after. Trying to do true justice to this article is really an exercise in futility. It was quite evident to his close friends that he would be successful in any field or career he ventured into, because he had all the right stuff. He was very popular with old and young alike, because of his fetching personality, and unique sence of humor, a mixture of Dean Martin and Gregory Peck, rolled up into one. I believe it truly impossible to guess at how many lives Joe has had a meaningful impact upon over these many years. I thank him greatly for his friendship. He will be sorely missed...but never forgotten!!

My wife Cheryl & I are deeply saddened to learn of Joe's untimely passing. We were dear friends for twenty years. Joe was quite simply one the finest, big-hearted people in the world and it was a pleasure to have been his friend and fellow W.C. attorney practicing at the I.C.
We will keep Joe and his family in our prayers.
