I am very sorry to hear of your loss. I found about Joe Cernok through the Lacy Family and was very upset to hear of such a wonderful person passing on. He is going to make a terrific guardian angel who will watch over all his family and friends. Once Again, I am sorry please accept my condolences.

Dear Helen and Katie,
I just found out about Joe. I sit here in tears and disbelief that this has actually happened to someone as wonderful as Joe. He always had a kiss and huge smile for me every time we would meet. I am fortunate and proud to have even known him. There aren't too many guys out there like Joe. I can say with happiness that I was a friend of Joe's and always will be. Now, I hope God gives you strength to endure this rough time.
My prayers are with you and your families. I will always remember Joe and that big beautiful smile.
May God bless you.

Helen, Katie & Family: Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We're very lucky to have such a nice family that was so close to our family, always looking out for one another. Katie and Joe always treated my grandmother as someone so special to them and we will never forget that. The services for Joe were truly touching. We will always remember Joe as a fun-loving person. He was always so pleasant on the phone when I would answer. He would say "hi, sweetheart, how are you, dennis and the girls". We will remember and keep Franny's first Cubs dress that Joe and Helen bought for her when she was a baby.

Helen, Katie and all the family - I am constantly thinking about you all. The services for Joe were very touching and the spoken eulogies so well prepared during such a hard time were so true to the Joe we all knew and loved. Happy b-day to Joe today, I know he is celebrating with his new angel friends above. Love Laura

To the Cernok Family,
My deepest sympathies for your loss. Joe was such a great guy, truly one of the good guys that this world needs more of. It's amazing to me how many in the guest book mention that smile. It was the first thing I thought of, and I will remember it always.

Dear Helen,
Reality is such a brutal and cruel state to live in that at times a dream world seems welcomed. I wish that Joe's passing was part of a dream state.
What an extreme privilege to have shared times with you and Joe at the Gablin's basement bar and Loon Lake. It was always a delight to encounter Joe with his eternal smile and warm, strong embrace. He was always full of practical jokes. His gentle spirit was amazing considering his strong stature.
He was a genuinely kind hearted person and the homeless animals on the streets of Chicago felt his compassion and giving ways towards them.
He tried to be there for everyone who needed a helping hand and there are not many hands that were stronger than Joe's.
It is said that those we love never leave our hearts but move on to a place where only our continued love and thoughts can embrace them and comfort us. And so it is.
I am eternally grateful and better for having known Joe and witnessed his deeds of kindness. May he rest in peace.
Sympathy and love,
Mrs. G
