The Late Fr. Joseph Bisson, was an amazing servant of our Lord. He travelled to Papua New Guinea in 1964 along with 3 others, one of whom was my father, Late Richard Stegman. Fr. Joe´s best friend. My brother is named after him. He practically raised me and my siblings and never stopped even after my father passed. His departure is heartbreaking to us all, especially by my mother.
He was an incredible person, built churches, schools (primary, secondary & High) medical Clinics, all from his own hands through a support system back home. The people of Papua New Guinea will miss him and will forever speak of a great humble servant of God that stepped in where it was needed the most. Thank you for everything you have done for us and for PNG.
I know you have a very special place in heaven. Always in our hearts.

Eternal Father, I offer You the Most Precious Blood of Your Divine Son, Jesus, in union with the masses said throughout the world today, for all the holy souls in purgatory, for sinners everywhere, for sinners in the universal church, those in my own home and within my family. Amen. Uncle Joe had and fulfilled a true calling to the priesthood, his commitment, missionary spirit, devotion to leading souls to Jesus our Lord is exemplary. He played such an important role and part in my own vocation to the permanent diaconate. His spiritual guidance, and physical example inspired me to be a better man, husband, son, brother, uncle, dad, nephew, and friend. He showed up for everyone when visiting Boston every 3 years and always celebrated the Holy Mass everyday. He always had a kind word for everyone, never judging just loving and understanding, his wisdom guided me through my entire life´s journey. Uncle Joe was not only family to our family, but 1000´s in Papua New Guinea, where his service , devotion to teaching led so many to Jesus Christ our Lord . He built churches, schools, catechized so many souls, being the true missionary priest he was called to be. There is so much to say about my Holy uncle, a servant who served just like our lord Jesus taught his first disciples, celebrating the Holy Mass everyday, bringing all the Sacraments to God´s people. Well done good and faithful servant enter into your fathers house
