John Patterson III, MD
September 5, 2004
On behalf of myself and the Patterson family, I would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of Dr. Jose "Rocky" Balboa. I was fortunate enough to have trained with Jose, as we both did our residencies in Ob/Gyn at Mercy from 1976-1980. We had many good times together, and I remember Jose as a kind, thoughtful, hardworking doctor who always put patients first. We spent a lot of time together on the labor line at Mercy during those 4 years, and I have many wonderful memories. Unfortunately, by the time that I had heard of his passing, I was unable to attend his services. After graduation, our paths diverged, and unfortunately I hadn't seen Jose in about 20 years, but I always heard good things. My sincere condolences to his family and please know that he is with God now. John E.Patterson III, MD and family.
