John Whiston Obituary

Whiston, John "Jack" former Berwyn resident, 73, died at home on Sunday, July 5, 2009. Born March 5, 1936, the son of John and Jean (Calas) Whiston. Retired in 1998 from Joe Rizza Ford in North Riverside. Survivors, sons, Mark (Kathy) of Cicero and John (Diane) of Stickney, five grandchildren, brother-in-law, Robert Kotek of Berwyn, and numerous family and friends. Predeceased by parents, an infant son, and two infant daughters. Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 10, 2009 in Sundberg Funeral Home, Ltd., 215 N. Sixth St., Rockford, with Chaplain Maureen McLain officiating. A special thank you to Dr. Juliette Kalweit and Heartland Hospice for all their kind, loving care. I am a 1st cousin to Jack and I am saddened by his passing. Unfortunately, just by my leaving Illinois in 1979 I lost touch with some family. But, I am glad Jack had people close to him that made his life fuller, brighter and hopefully peaceful at the end.
