John Skwarek Obituary

Skwarek, John "Lefty" J. WWII US Coast Guard Merchant Marine Veteran, died at the age of 84, after a long illness. Beloved huband of 54 years to Frances (nee Poskonka), loving father of Carol, Teresa, Donna (Serge Fourmaux), Philip and Robert Skwarek, dearest brother of Helen Jarzabek, Bruno Skwarek and the late Edwin and the late Jozef Skwarek, dear brother-in-law of Matthew Poskonka, Helen Straczek, Stephanie (John) Malan, Wanda Gora, Bernice Skonieczny and Janet (Robert) Klausegger, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Past member of HNS, usher, commentator and baseball coach of the former Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish (Back of the Yards). Member of American Merchant Marine Veterans Midwest Chapter, Pinczow Club and Troubadours. Funeral Thursday, 9:30 a.m., from Wolniak Funeral Home, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd., to St. Bruno Church for 10 a.m., Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 2 to 9 p.m. 773-767-4500
