Dear Katie, Jane, Bill, Mary and Ann,
I have great childhood memories of your brother John teasing his younger sisters and their neighborhood girl friends. One day he had a bucket of water he was spinning in a circle outside a seond floor window. He called Jane, me, Sara and Moira Fitzgerald over to just under the window. He explained that he was doing a science experiment about "centrifugal force." We were so impressed. He then asked us to come closer -- right under the bucket - and just as the four of us got right under the bucket John slowed the circular motion and oops, all the water fell on the "little girls!" We all started laughing very hard.
I mostly remember the fun we had with the whole Semple family and I am so sorry you have lost your brother John.
Love,
Patty

Dear Peg & EJ,
I am so sorry to learn of your recent loss. From what I recall John was a great man with a loving sense of humor. He loved his burnt toast (regardless of what the neighbors thought). You and John are in my thoughts and prayers.

A true Gentleman and Scholar is missed but will greet us one day when we will party together again. Thank you John for helping me "the new guy in the office" 30 years ago.
