John J. Mathis, age 96 of Chicago. Beloved Husband of the late Doris; loving father of John F., Patrica (Patrick) Meyer, Kathleen (Jerry) Wanko, James R., Thomas, and the late Robert; grandfather of Jacob Macek. He was a World War II Army Veteran. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at Matz Funeral Home, 3440 N. Central Ave., Chicago IL from 4:00pm to 9:00pm. Prayers at 10:30am, Friday, February 19, 2021 at the funeral home, going to St. Bartholomew Church. Mass at 11:00am. Internment at St. Joseph Cemetery. Johnny was a great friend and a great neighbor he was always ready to help anyone that needed help. I will miss the times we would sit on the front porch and talk, he will be missed very much. Patti and family Iam so sorry for your loss. Iam very sorry that I could not be there.
