We remember the wonderful visits we had when the Martinkus family and the Nemickas family got together when we were in town.
John was always a delight to chat with and he will be missed by all.
Cherish the memories of the good times and carry them in your hearts.
Sincerely,
Tom and Anne

John was a great guy. As my professor at UIC, he taught me so much about architecture. He was passionate about passing on his knowledge and his appreciation for the subject to others. My brother (who went to school with Ingrida) and I both had fun with John. Even though I have not seen him in years, he will be missed.

Dalia and Ingrida--
Being well over age 50, I have been regularly perusing the obituaries for years and was saddened to see John's notice today. He was a sweet, kind, engaging, bright, and interesting man whose office visits I always eagerly anticipated and cherished. Even though I haven't seen him for years, I remeber that he always referred lovingly to you as "the wife" and "the daughter", and you were clearly the "suns" around which he orbited. My deepest sympathies and condolences to you and the rest of your family.
Sincerely,
Paul Ringel, M.D.

Dalia and Ingrida,
I am deeply saddened that John is gone and I'm so sorry for your loss. I met him shortly after I met Ted, and he has been dear to me ever since. I loved the way he took younger architects and students under his wing and guided and taught them. He was so young at heart. Ted and I feel so lucky to have been a small part of his life and that we got to know this wonderful man.
You and Ingrida will be in our thoughts and prayers for months to come. May you be comforted.
Kindest regards,
Jay Muller

Dalia/Ingrida: Our deepest condolances on John's passing. He was a wonderful person and a great teacher who did so much for me in my early years in the profession. I shall always remember the Fridays at the 'stand up', the Chritmas reunions, and his remarkably witty insite on his fellow professionals and life in general. He will be missed.
