Cynthia,

John Linton was very, very special. We were business friends at Towers Perrin. He was a business man through his executive compensation expertise.
We had many successful client ventures together ... John always being a great "teammate."
And, yes, many deep discussions on sports and our many Chicago sports teams.
My deepest sympathies to you. He has left me with positive memories and a positive impact on my life.

Bob and Mrs. Linton, I'm sorry to hear of your loss. He was a bright, funny and modest man with his heart in the right place. Now his place is in your hearts, which I found once Claire passed (I know she'd send her condolences to JR's "second parents" too if she could).

Peace,
Mark

Dear Cynthia. Just learned of this loss from Abigail's email. John was always such an "up" guy. His wry sense of humor echoes across the years. He always had a great way to cut to the chase. Suzanne is out right now, but I am sure that she will be in touch. Peace, strength and fond memories. The world is a less friendly place today.

While growing up in Cleveland, Cousin John and his parents, Uncle John and Aunt Marie, travelled from Pittsburgh to see us. It was a time of celebration. Johnnie was like a big brother during those visits and his kind spirit always brought me joy. I will miss my cousin, and my prayers are with him and his family.

So many memories of good times with John…from sub-zero football at Lambeau Field to our season seats watching MJ from day one through 6 championships. We laughed about our failed fishing expeditions in Door County with Captain Thorpe. But it was more than just sports. Sitting on wooden benches at the first ever performance of “Grease” at Kingston mines, Saturday morning meetings at Operation Breadbasket, supplying milk to burnt-out neighborhoods after MLK’s death, many good memories. A good man.

John was a lifetime friend. Friends like him are hard to come by and so sad to let go of. You can't make new friends who will grow to be your old friends now...there isn't enough time!

John was one of a kind and I'll remember, with a smile, the stories he shared and good times many of us had with him during our days at TP.

I will always remember John arriving in the 4th grade.
The Highland Road kids remained friends for years and I treasure those memories.

My cousin John was like a big brother to me. I cherish the memories when the Lintons arrived in Cleveland for Christmas and my many visits to Pittsburgh. One very special memory was our trip to Florida in 1949 with our Grandma and Grandpa Tibbals. John rode up front with Grandpa & was his navigator. Johnny always had a phenomenal memory for directions, sports statistics and history. I will miss you, Johnny. So sad to check my email and find no messages from JML990. Cousin Barbara
