What a nice man! I was a paralegal working for a Special Assistant Corporation Counsel. He was in the Training Academy I believe. We were under a consent decree to train the Department's officers about some issue. The work was hard in that we had to be sensitive to a number of people and issues.
Under difficult circumstances, circumstances that would have long-term consequences, he was remarkably pleasant, confident, secure in himself.
I was a very young woman. He knew that I was someone's daughter, and he treated me as if I were his own daughter--respectfully, interested in me and my thoughts. He made me feel so comfortable around him.
I was lucky to have met him, and you were all lucky to have had him in your life.

I read with great sadness that John has died. We had many fond memories of our joint working relationships. I was associated with the Circuit Cout, Juveniile Probation.
