I grew up since grade school days with Jack, and we both had careers in the CFD. My wife Joyce and Donna became good friends, and we all were god-parents, of some of the children. Jack had great sense of humor and lots of good stories. Our prayers and condolences go with him, and we will miss him.

Mr. H- What a great man - he knew just what to say to brighten up your day and he made so many people laugh with his contagious laughter. As my dad always says- He lived his life the way he wanted and he had a good life. He will truly be missed. From his BBQs to his little change purse to his hand held radio. God love ya Mr. H

Some of my best memories were with Chief, Mike, and the gang at the corner bar. Chief had a way of making everyone feel welcome and life more enjoyable. The trip to the Notre Dame game will be with me forever.

The Chief was Joe's "second dad." He has been rocked by losing him ... as have so many of the friends of his children that he and Donna opened their house and their hearts to. The Herrity family was all-inclusive in the neighborhood with Chief at the head, and Donna at the heart. He'll always be remembered, a neighbor, a friend, a dad to hundreds, an icon.

Chief was Mr. Neighborhood. He knew everyone and everyone liked him. I used to enjoy sitting at the corner bar with him and listening to his stories. I will truly miss hearing the sound of his laugh. He was always good to me and I will miss him
Rest in peace Mr. Neighborhood

What more can I say about Mr. Herrity, he loved his job with a passion, along with his family and friends. I am proud to known Mr. Herrity for 46 years, I enjoy many vacation, barbeque's and many, many, many, hours just sitting at our house,or at Donna's and Jack's with my parents just talking the time away.
