Hennessy, John "Jack" F. 84, of Mt. Prospect, beloved husband of Mary (nee Niwranski), loving father of Alan (Sheryl) Gafka, Philip (Deborah) Gafka and Janet Mika, loved grandfather of Amanda (John), Alan (Heather), Ryan, Elizabeth, Marissa, Logan and Ani and great-grandfather of Jared, Kayle and Patrick. Funeral Mass 10 a.m., Thursday, at St. Cecilia Church, 700 S. Meier Rd. (Meier & Golf), Mt. Prospect. Visitation Wednesday, from 3 until 9 p.m., at the Glueckert Funeral Home, LTD, 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blks. South of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights and Thursday, at Church from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass. Interment St. Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to St. Cecilia Church. Information: 847-253-0168To plant trees in memory, please visit the Sympathy Store.

Sharing our family with him was a large part of growing up. He took me to several white sox games over the years as I was an avid ball player. Miss him.

He was a Great Man !!! He rented a room from my parents when I was a kid. He was like part of are family. Everyone whose life he touched was blessed.

Over the years, I have, many times thought back to the days of my youth.
I thought of " Mr. Hennessy" and the Gafka's. Always wishing that, someday the old Wolcott people could be back in those simpler days, but as life goes on we get so busy.
I'm very sorry for your loss, and know that he will be missed , by all that knew him,,,,,with deepest sympathy Jim
