Lee and I had the priviledge of watching John and Bert, in action, sanding the wings of their plane in Bend, OR. It was serious business, hard work with few breaks, but clearly a labor of love. What a wonderfully kind, patient, gentle, man and father he was. Our hearts go out to you and your family, Bert. Trude & Lee Andruss

My condolences to the entire Geldermann family. John was always helpful when it came to explaining something to this cub reporter when I first started at Futures. I always loved to see what original golf attire he would wear at Boca. He was a great guy and will be missed.

To the Geldermann Family:
I'm sorry to hear of John's passing. I interviewed him several times while I was an editor at Futures Magazine in the 1980s, and could always count on him to take the time to explain something (particularly as it related to technology) and to be a calm voice of reason. He was a great asset to the futures industry and will be missed.

I have fond memories of Mr. Geldermann (as I used to call him). Many evenings we walked from the chicago & northwestern train station together to our respective 10th street homes.
I had a hard time keeping up with him. (and i thought i had long legs....)
I believe he is soaring in his heavenly plane above us right now.

John - I have known you for a very short time as I worked with you for approximately 1 year at the health center of Community Health, on the Board and the Enhancement Committee. In that short time I have found that you have contributed so much, an everlasting imprint to the less fortunate people of Chicago; and to those others who may have been more fortunate to call themselves "your friend". Thank you for being such a great man. God Bless you!
