Sue & Family, Solemn Greetings from Fort Polk, Louisiana. I was deeply saddened to read of John's passing on the FIREHOUSE.COM webpage. I so looked forward to seeing him again at the upcoming CFD Muster and Firefighter's Mass next month. He always had time for everyone in the Fire Service and he was passionate about HazMat/WMD from the beginning. Do keep alive his positive spirit, as he would have wanted us to remember him in that manner. I am sure that our Eternal Chief and St. Florian warmly greeted him upon his arrival at his new duty station...Headquarters Heaven. Respectfully, Michael L. Kuk

Sue and Mike, for all the time we have known John, he is a giant of a man and a good friend. There is not enough room to express all of our memories but the IFCA Conference in St. Louis (hotel lobby) will be one of the top ones. He will be remembered in our thoughts and you all are always in our prayers. We are sorry we could not make the wake to deliver our condolences personally but you are deep in our hearts.

John Eversole treated our family like it was his own. He was an original cast member of "Christmas at Thanksgiving" at the Mariotti house when Kris, KD and Kim were small. His wit and charm were omnipresent, regardless of the event. The stories that he ended with raised eyebrows and a little whistle left many listeners wishing for more, though they couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. He was always sure to tell us, whenever he saw us, that we "were doing a good job".
PS: John, when you see my mother, ask her where the Christmas cookie recipes are. Thanks.

To the Eversole Family
I was saddened to hear of John's death. I was a student of his with Hazardous Materials thru the years. I found him to be educated, instuctive and especially passionate of his job. I learned a great deal from him both in the classroom and talking over a few cold taps. I, along with the fire service will miss him. Please accept and extend my deepest sympathy to the entire Eversole family
