Please accept my condolences on your family’s loss. I was able to make it to Mass Saturday morning. What a beautiful church, and a nice ceremony. I hope it was of some comfort to you all.
I knew Dr. Dwyer professionally for many, many years. Prior to my appointment to what Doctor knew as the “Industrial Commission”, I was a defense attorney there for 23 years. Doctor was my defense expert more times than I can even count.
But on a more personal note, I am also a Vietnam Veteran, as was Doc. I have friends who were with the 25th Infantry Division. Doc patched up a number of their guys, some of whom are alive and walking around today only because of him.
I am sorry that I never took the opportunity to really discuss it with him. But please know that it will never be forgotten, and it is still deeply appreciated by a lot of people.
We have all lost a very good man.

As a newly graduated nurse, I knew Dr. Dwyer at Oak Park Hospital. Later, I worked with him when he was an orthopedic resident at Shriners Hospital. He took care of both of my parents until their deaths. He was always so kind to them, and I am ever grateful for that. He will be missed by many.
Our condolences to the Dwyer family.
