John Duff Obituary

I was reminiscing about my high school days and thought of Patrick & Jack.
In the late 80’s early 90’s I remember seeing y’all periodically at the Como Inn

Jack was the epitome of a gentleman , fiercely loyal to his friends . There was never a dull moment with Jack . He not only had a great sense of humor but also raised the bar in all he did. I pray for peace and comfort to Patrick and his family

Jimmy & Patrick..I just happened on this..Jack was a man of men.. true to those he loved..all of you and yours...bless your moms sole for teaching you all she did..for teaching you all you know and live by..

My heart aches for all of you in your sorrow for the loss of your dear brother, Jack. Jack always made me laugh with his entertaining stories but I was always impressed by his sense of loyalty and love for his family. Thank you to Jack and to the Duff family for treating me as family over the many years. I always felt protected and knew you were always there. We never give up, never surrender. And, I will keep Jack always in my daily prayers. With love always, Gina

Jack joined our wrestling team (St. Patrick High School, Chicago) in 1969 and for two years I never laughed as much as when Jack was around us. Competitive as hell, with the competition and with us, he stood out. That included all practice time and all meets...but it also included all the time in between. And we had some times in between. Nobody had a smile or laugh like Jack.

We went our separate ways after high school...so much so that I met him only twice...by chance on the street...in over forty-five years since that special time. After all that time, this news shook me...deeply. Surely loved this guy.

My sympathies to Pat and to James, whom I met on occasions with Jack a long time ago, so long ago they won't remember, and to his entire family.

Jack was amazing, a lightening fixation in time.

. Jack will be remembered in my heart as the one who told me to "Be careful" when I went on a date; A handsome man, who knew what being a Friend meant. My deep condolences to Patrick and Jamie, and the entire Duff family and Friends.

I will always have fond memories of Jackie. We had a lot of fun over the years. He was a genuine article and will surely be missed.

Jack was our neighbor at Riverwoods . We really enjoyed him. He was very kind to Scout and extremely witty. Jack had a remarkable manner about him. He made a person feel valued . Always chipper and upbeat when we ran into him , we will miss him and always remember him. When he told me " Remember, I stand with you". That meant a great deal . Prayers to his family.

Pat and Duff Family, you have my deepest sympathies during this time of grief.

Jack was a great friend and mentor to me and was so supportive of me when I was just starting out - and he was always fun to be around at the same time. I will always be so thankful for having met him and so grateful for all his help and his friendship. I will remember him always as the smart, tough, and funny guy I worked with back in the day.
