Born Earl Thomas Currier, Br. John Patrick, O.S.A. (religious name), Age 78, Born into Eternal Life on May 6, 2021. Beloved son of the late Earl and Mary Alice (Tiernan) Currier. Loving brother to Cathy Spuehler and uncle to Gina Banks, Dylan Banks, Cheyenne Spuehler, Nathan Spuehler, David Spuehler, and Bill Spuehler. Professed vows in the Augustinian Order on September 4, 1964. Served in different capacities within the province in various locations throughout his ministerial life. Known to be a good chef and an excellent tailor. Visitation Wednesday, May 12th, from 5-7 p.m., at St. Rita of Cascia Shrine Chapel, 7740 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL 60620. Covid-19 guidelines for social distancing and masks to be observed by visitors. Mass of Christian Burial at 7:00p.m. Interment in Augustinian Plot at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Alsip, IL, Thursday, May 13th, at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Augustinians, 5401 S. Cornell Ave., Chicago, IL 60615-5664 to support care of elderly friars and seminary formation of young friars appreciated.
