Dear Judy, Jerry, John Julie, and Bruce,
I am saddened by your loved ones passing, yet gladdened that he is finally at rest and in His Creator's hands now. The song Finally Home by Mercy Me comes to my mind.
When Judy and I were growing up together in Marquette Park, John (aka Mr. Bucki) was a loving Husband, great Father and good neighborhood Dad. I recall him sometimes coming over on foot to walk Judy safely back home and away from the shenanigans at our house which was just a block away. I remember also that he always kept a neat lawn and tidy house.
He loved his family and friends. He took great care of his wife. He provided for his family. He protected his kids. He doted on his Grandkids. He was also a great cook.
Mostly what I remember of him is that he seemed to born with a lot of courage. He was a natural protector and take charge kind of guy. That was definitely a gift he had. And at the end of his life, he fought bravely with so much of that courage. He will be so deeply missed.
He was told at the end of his life that we all loved him. This is true.
Thank you, brave John. We do love you. You can rest now. You don't have to be courageous anymore. "We are made more than conquerors in Christ"-Romans 8:37. And I believe, that's where you are...with Christ
Oh, and thank you for Judy, my best friend.
Lovingly,
Cathleen Nolan
