Recently some recordings with John playing bass and possibly with some harmonies were rediscovered and digitally reproduced. Good stuff! Thanks for your contributions on these musical memories, John. R.I.P.

I grew up in the Austin Community and was friends with John's sister Marg. Have lost touch with her but just now found her on the internet. Hoping we can get back in touch.

I will remember John when I was a Trinity too. He was one of the ushers when my wife and I remarried on tht very hot day in July of 1998 when the temp was around 102 inside. He was very staunch in his beleifs of the Lutheran Church. My condolences go out to you, his family and friends, on his passing into Eternal Salvation in our Lord Jesus Christ.

I haven't seen in John in many years but would hear of him over the years. I was close friends with his sister Margaret through high school. I do know that he loved music. I will keep John and is family in my prayers.

I'm so sorry to hear about John's passing. I have many fond memories of playing music with him, both as a kid growing up in the Austin area and later on in and around Chicago. A great musician and friend.

I decided to glance in the obits today and saw John's name. The information there makes me think it's the same John Breinig who played bass in a band I played drums in called Tumbleweed. This was back in the 80's. I hadn't seen John since he left the band back then. However, I happened to mention him in a conversation just yesterday. He was a very good player. We had some good times and made good music. My condolences to John's family and friends.
