Dear Nancy and Mary,
As a former classmate from OLPH and Marillac, I would like to extend my sympathy to you on the passing of your Father. It always gave me a smile to hear your Dad on the radio.
Peace to you.

I am an old friend of Ann Slattery. We flew together at TIA in Oakland, Calif. I remember visiting the house on Chatham in Glenview. Her mother was a terrific cook. Because of her fathers obituary I just now realized that she has passed also. If a family member could contact me I would appreciate it. Pattie Wilson

I worked with Joe on the North Shore Cable Commission in the early 80's. Joe was very interested in serving his community and did so in an honest and professional manner. Although it has been years since I have seen Joe, I always thought of him as a friend, and he will be missed.

We were priviledged in the early 50's to have Joe as our announcer on local radio station KWTO in Springfield, MO. Then when the Ozark Jubilee went on ABC TV from here, He was the announcer. Being a ham Radio operator, I knew Joe as Amateur Radio Operator K0CCL(He used the phonetics,Charlie Chan's Laundry)

Joe and I started in Chicago Radio-Tv about the same time in the mid 50's.Though we fulfilled different functions wenever had any divergencies of goals and how to achieve them. He was a great friend and colleague and a hell of a performer. Both Carol and I loved and respested him. (Incidentally Carol hired Joe for her commercials--no conflict of interest !)

Dear Nancy and the Slattery family,
I have you in my thoughts and prayers. You know how I thought of your Dad. He was a very special voice over as well as just a good guy.
I'll miss him and I'm sure you will miss him deeply.
Take care.

When you heard Joe Slattery do one of the readings at Mass at OLPH, it sounded like what I imagine Moses must have experienced that day when he heard the voice of God coming out of a burning bush. To all the Slatterys, you are in my heart.

Joe and Marilyn were a wonderful couple and it was obvious they were dedicated to each other. Joe was always interesting to talk to and a great addition to our family circle. We are only sorry that we did not get to know him better. Marilyn, you are a dear lady and our hearts go out to you for the loss of the husband you loved so much and so well.

I was so sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I feel fortunate to have met and talked with him and to hear of his varied and exciting life. I know my brother-in-law Irvin enjoyed talking about their shared profession and will also miss Joe even though he only met him once. My daughter Claire also was fascinated by Joe and his stories. Marilyn you and Joe will be in our thoughts and prayers. Chris Seibel family
