Joe La Porte Jr., age 72, died Sunday, July 31, 2022 in Winfield, IL, after battling lung cancer. Joe was a Vietnam Veteran who served in the U.S. Army and a proud member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters & Joiners of America Local 1185. A faithful White Sox fan since birth, Joe also enjoyed over 30 years of golf with his buddies, family picnics & a good joke. Adored Daddy-o of Bridget (Ryan Decker) La Porte; Beloved brother of Patricia, the late James, Tony (the late Rita), Mary (George) Ramos, Bernie (Dave) Dorken, Tom (Diane), & Larry (Mary) La Porte; Admired Godfather of Brian (Danielle) La Porte; Cherished uncle & great-uncle to numerous nieces & nephews; Respected cousin & friend to many. Visitation Monday, August 8, 2022, from 3pm-8pm at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Rd., Wheaton, IL. Funeral Service Tuesday, August 9, 2022, at 10am at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home followed by the Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
