My dear sweet godmother-aunt-friend has left this earth leaving us all to be forever thankful for the blessing that is Joanne Fondren. I don't know what I would do if I could no longer hear her voice and see her bright light. I don't know who I would be if she had not been in my life. As happy as I am that she was, I am comforted that she is. We miss Joanne Fondren...her laugh, her support, her vision, her energy, her joy, her talking, her healing, her commitment and her love. Alana Sahara said on Thursday, "I wish we could call Aunt Joanne." All I could say was I wish we could too. I really do.

To a wonderful woman whom I knew (actually since the early 70s) when as a teenage girl, who encouraged me to be and do my best as an adult. You said to me; " You have too much to do and you aren't finished yet!" We were suppose reunite this summer and re-start a re-newed friendship as writers.I was too late to come home to see you again. I will forever regret this, but at least I got to hear your voice again for what would be the last Summer and I could not wait to see you again. I wish you were here now. You were the only one to stand by me when I was rejected in life. Your words to me (over 20 years ago) as a teenaged girl remained unusually strong in my spirit and it was what brought me back. A truly generous and unforgettable heart and a gifted woman who I will never, ever forget. To this world it is our lost and Heaven's gain where you have definately earned your wings. To Gia, Glen, Roy, and Shelley, I will see you very soon to continue emotional and loving support and hopefully that we will be an addition of love to your family to bring forth new memories of laughter and joy.
You are like Bette Midler in The Rose. You are the lyrics in the song and your family is the continued legacy of who you are.
Love Always and forever,
Anita J. Hough-Stielow

My condolences and prayers go to Joanne's family for their loss. She is one of the people in Hyde Park who left an impression on me. She was a wonderful person and a great mother. It will be an emptier place now that I know I will not see her around the neighborhood in the future. Her spirit will always be there though.
