An Open Letter to My Aunt,
I never imagined 16 years ago when my Dad was passing (Uncle Paul) that you and I would forge a beautiful friendship. I've enjoyed getting to know you and loved your wonderful wit. I remember the story we fabricated to explain the scars on your arm - we told my husband you were attacked by a shark many years ago - you were so convincing he believed it, and we laughed so hard! You finally came clean and years later we still laughed about it.
I have so enjoyed keeping in touch with you over the years and in a way, I think 'we' kept Dad (your brother) alive in each other.
I will truly miss our conversations.
Sincerely,
JoAnne Yeisley
(Your namesake)
