I knew Joan from working at Gallagher & Henry. In 1977 she gave me a cookie recipe that I am still making (sugar cookies). They're still as yummy as the day I first tasted them. In 1978 she took me, from work, to the doctor who then saved the life of the baby I was carrying. That baby is now a kindergarten teacher. I will always remember Joan fondly as a fun, loving & giving person. Jim was a lucky man. I learned many valuable life lessons from this amazing woman. So sorry for your great loss.

I am sorry so to find this out so late. We had just moved back from WI a couple of years ago and had wondered what happened to all our former neighbors on Whipple St. She was my idol. It's who I wanted to be like and look like when I grew up. She will always hold a special place in my heart.
