Jesus Zapata Obituary
HARLINGEN, TX.-
Jesus Zapata, 78, went to be with the Lord Monday, January 31, 2011. He was a native of Cerritos, Mexico, SLP, but had lived in Harlingen most of his life.
Jesus retired from the Cameron County Health Department. He was an active member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church, and he was a big soccer fan.
Jesus leaves behind his loving family to cherish his wonderful memories, his wife of 52 years, Agustina Zapata of Harlingen; daughter, Rosalia Valeria Zapata of Harlingen; sons, Jesus Javier (Anita) Zapata of Donna, Jorge Uriel of Harlingen, and Joel Amador of Edinburg;; 5 grandchildren; brother, Jose Angel Zapata of Beasley, TX, and sisters, Paula Cortez, and Margarita Hernandez both of Rio Hondo, Carmen Villarreal of Beasley, TX, and Antonia Romine of Reno, NV and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Wednesday February 2, 2011 from 12 P.M. to 9 P.M. with a holy rosary to be recited at 7 P.M. at Trinity Funeral Chapel of the Holy Spirit.
Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2011 at 10 A.M. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Bill Penderghest as celebrant. Interment to follow to Harlingen-Combes Memorial Park Cemetery.
